Cal State Fullerton recognizes Esperanza teacher at Honor an Educator event

Honor an Educator event at CSUF.

On Sunday, November 13, 2022, Esperanza High School teacher Sue Sawyer was recognized at the Cal State Fullerton “Honor an Educator” event.  Ms. Sawyer was selected for the honor by Dr. Nancy Watkins, a former Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) administrator, and current Director and Assistant Professor at CSUF. Ms. Sawyer was one of ten educators recognized at the event.

Ms. Sawyer is an experienced professional educator with a record of improving student participation through strategic event planning and implementation. She is an inclusive educator who uses multiple modalities to engage students in Video/Media Production and Managerial Arts and consistently strives to improve educational experiences for all students.

Ms. Sawyer spearheads the Career Technical Education (CTE) Stakeholder group for PYLUSD and brings educational partners and industry together to improve CTE education for all students. A noteworthy accomplishment is Ms. Sawyer’s creation and production of the district’s annual Women in Industry event. Women in Industry brings together a dynamic panel of women to discuss careers and inspire the next generation of leaders through 21st-century learning. Cal State Fullerton is proud to honor educators making a difference in the lives of students.
