Lakeview Elementary School focuses on kindness throughout the month of January

Lakeview Kindness Week,

During the entire month of January, Lakeview Elementary School participated in The Great Kindness Challenge! Students were given checklists of various acts of kindness to complete for their school or with their families.

Led by Ms. Day, activities were provided for the classroom, at recess time, and at home. Some of the activities that students took part in were located at Lakeview’s “Kindness Station.” Here, Lakeview Lions made kindness chains, kindness grams, cards, and bookmarks for others. Kindness Spirit Week was also sprinkled in where students wore workout clothes to work out their problems with kindness, patterns and stripes to make kindness a pattern, tie-dye & hearts to represent peace – love – & kindness, crazy socks to show that they were crazy about kindness, and lastly school spirit-wear to show that the Lions are united in standing for kindness.

Ms. Day made it a focus to show appreciation and kindness to our janitors, health clerks, cafeteria staff, and school nurses. Students helped clean up trash at the lunch benches as well as made bunches of paper flower bouquets that displayed kind messages to other Lakeview staff. Well done, Lions!
