Rose Drive families test their math skills

Math family fun was the theme for the evening at Rose Drive Elementary School this past Thursday, Jan. 28. Families moved from one classroom to the next, stopping to participate in a variety of math-themed games that had everyone putting their math acuity and speed to the test. Participants were called on to test their engineering skills with a marshmallow and toothpick structure-building activity, calculate the value of their names, use probability to calculate the chances of their soccer teams winning, and manipulate tangrams – to name just a few of the activities. Classrooms sported treat-filled containers, encouraging students to test their estimation skills for a possible win at the container of treats. A fun-filled and educational night was had by all!
