Congratulations are in order for Yorba Linda High School senior, Magdalena Aparicio, who has earned the 2023 Orange County Register Artist of the Year distinction for film and TV. Magdalena received this recognition alongside six other Artists of the Year from various Orange County high schools in the categories of dance, theater, instrumental music, vocal music, fine arts, and media arts.

Richard Cadra, Yorba Linda High School video production teacher, praised Magdalena’s artistry. “She is very skilled with all of the equipment and software, and she also has wonderfully creative ideas for short films and always comes through with her deadlines.”

The Artist of the Year program is produced by the Orange County Register and hosted by the Chapman College of Performing Arts with sponsorship from the Laguna College of Art and Design, which will reward the top seven Artists of the Year with a monetary prize alongside their new title.
