Rio Vista CASA students participate in 8 week golf clinic

Golf at Rio Vista.

Twenty-five students in Rio Vista Elementary School’s CASA program were recently given the opportunity to participate in an 8-week golf clinic at Island’s Driving Range. Students learned about the game of golf and about different clubs and swings. They were even given the chance to work on their putting and driving skills. Their coaches also informed them about the opportunity to obtain golf scholarships later on in life. At the end of the clinic, the Rio Vista Leopards were all given golf clubs and golf balls of their own to continue practicing their golf game!

“A few of them are now regulars at the driving range,” Cathrine Sain, Physical Education Teacher at Rio Vista. “Thank you Mr. Casaba for always finding fun and new activities for our students!”

CASA, otherwise known as the County After School Program, is designed to provide a safe space for students after school and offers academic enrichment, homework centers, and tutoring, as well as a range of recreational opportunities.
