A week’s worth of good news from Glenview

Family Science Night
Glenview Elementary School scholars and their families enjoyed a Family Science Night sponsored by the PTA in honor of Founders’ Day on Thursday, Feb. 18. Everyone enjoyed a series of science experiments, such as erupting lemon volcanos, making slime and catapults, to name just a few. Special thanks to PTA members Amber Fairburn, Wendy Canfield and Kym Jedinak who made the evening possible.

Board game fun for PAWS-itive behavior
Glenview held a Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Board Game Principal Party on Friday, Feb. 20. Students who had earned $50 Bulldog Bucks enjoyed the special reward of a fun-filled session of their favorite board games with friends, including Connect Four, Battleship, checkers and more! Principal Alondra Ramos was proud to share the afternoon with students, and the wonderful parent volunteers from the PTA who lent a hand, teaching game rules and distributing a popcorn treat to all. PAWS stands for Practice safety, Act responsibly, Work together and Show respect.

Skate for books
Glenview families roller-skated the night away with Principal Ramos to raise money for Glenview’s library. The goal is to fill book shelves with new books for readers in grades Preppy K through sixth. Special thanks to librarian Wendy Canfield for organizing this monthly community event.
