Fifth and sixth graders at Brookhaven Elementary School recently attended the Anaheim Ducks “Light the Lamp” event at the Honda Center. Each year, the Ducks offer a free field trip based on science and/or social studies standards to Orange County students. This field trip includes preparatory materials, hands-on stations outside the arena and some on-the-ice help from the players themselves. This year’s focus was electricity. Players helped reinforce the science of currents, circuits, power sources, terminals, resistors and other aspects of electricity. As an added bonus, many of our students were featured on the Jumbo Tron, which made their day!
