Rose Drive Elementary School first graders celebrated Earth Day by planting an array of plants in the school’s brand new garden. Students have been busy putting their green thumbs to work these past few weeks as they learned firsthand the science behind the life cycle of plants. They will now take ownership of a section of the planter in the next few months, tending to and water the plants to ensure they thrive. Students are pictured wearing their handmade Earth Day headbands and mustaches from the Dr. Seuss classic, “The Lorax.” Not only did these enthusiastic first graders “speak for the trees,” they also did their part by giving back to our beautiful planet.
