El Dorado ASB gives thanks to community partners in a BIG way

The El Dorado High School associated student body (ASB) never stops contributing to the school community – both inside and outside of class.

A non-exhaustive list of this year’s ASB activities includes setting up for dances and assemblies; prepping the Hawks Nest; decorating the campus on bell week, Halloween and prom; representing the school at PTSA meetings and school site council meetings; putting on lunchtime activities; promoting positive choices through #icanhelpdeletenegativity week; supporting students to make good choices through “Every 15 Minutes;” feeding seniors on senior quad days; making wishes come true with the “Wish Box;” helping families of incoming freshmen at the High School Academic Showcase; celebrating awareness through community service projects; and running mascot races at home baseball games.

They truly love what they’re doing.

Recently, on their own (limited) time using their own money, the EDHS ASB choose several local organizations to thank. These groups included the Placentia Police Department, Placentia Fire Department, B&C Burgers, Pepe’s Finest Mexican Food, With Hope Foundation, Avalon Bagels To Burgers, Rosa’s Pizza, Cinema City, Lamppost Pizza, and the OC Animal Care shelter. In student groups of four, they went to each business with a large thank you poster, cards and, in some cases, a “Pinterest”-type gift.

These extraordinary ASB students work hard every day to make El Dorado a place where kids want to go to school. Thanks for all that you do! It’s always a great day to be a Golden Hawk!
