El Dorado counselor Dana Armstrong presents challenge coin to Heather Petrillo

El Dorado High School counselor Dana Armstrong presented her PYLUSD challenge coin to Heather Petrillo, a psychologist at El Dorado. According to Dana:

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Heather for over seven years, and I have hundreds of experiences with her that have all been positive. Personally, I could not do my job without her support.

Heather really knows high school students. She reaches out to them, and they truly respond. Her compassion and effectiveness is beyond limit as she has this unique ability to capture students’ attention and touch their souls. Heather works with any and all students who need counseling, a shoulder to cry on or a lesson on mindfulness. She was a pillar of strength and consistency for those students who really suffered from the loss of Mrs. J, and she continues to be that support even a year later. In addition, she has been a huge professional and emotional support for staff members, and especially our counseling team. Again, we could not do our jobs without her.

Finally, Heather executes her job seamlessly with care and attention to the needs of families. Her professionalism, thoroughness and ability to remain calm in stressful meetings are admirable traits she uses on a daily basis. I am thankful for her insight and knowledge of special education and counseling, and I am blessed to work with such a highly motivated person with the utmost integrity.

Congratulations Heather!
