Several teachers from PYLUSD attended “Better Together: California Teachers Summit” at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), in late July. It was a free event, modeled after a concept called “edcamp,” organized for teachers by teachers. Over 15,000 educators from across California attended this unique gathering in 33 different locations. The California State University, New Teacher Center, and Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities (AICCU) and its member institutions co-hosted the event.

The summit featured information on best practices in implementing California standards, national speakers and resources, materials to help teachers navigate changes, and new opportunities in state teaching practices.
