Valencia seniors receive certificate of completion for their JPL internship

On Wednesday, Sept. 28, Valencia High School seniors Nathan Fortner, Brennen Irey and Gavril Moniaga were formally recognized by the school and PYLUSD for their remarkable achievement serving as successful interns for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) Summer High School Internship Program, titled “JPL SpaceSHIP.”

The eight-week internship was for high school students who have demonstrated a strong interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) studies. Students who participated in JPL SpaceSHIP were provided an opportunity to do introductory research, work in a technical environment and expand their computer skills under the guidance of NASA professionals.
