Golden faculty have fit feast with “Five for Five”

Teachers Tara Bloomquist, Terry Mulcahy, Lyndsey Kuehn, Judy Hale, Terri Hanna, Karen Hope, Michelle Woinarowicz, Sandy Jung and Lisa Fraser show off their healthy creations.

Colorful, fragrant and delicious vegetables were shared, and healthy salads were created in Golden Elementary School’s first “Build a Salad” event. Teachers brought in a chopped vegetable to share, five empty containers and a spirit for adventurous eating as they gathered in Lisa Fraser’s third grade classroom after school on Monday, Oct. 3. In the blink of an eye, each left with at least five delicious, healthy salads to start them on their week of five servings of vegetables each day. Not only do they have their lunches made for the next week, they are helping each other maintain healthy eating habits. Their first event was so successful, they can’t wait for the next one! Thanks to Lisa Fraser for organizing this fun way to get lots of veggies into their daily diet!
