La Entrada and Parkview welcome new counselor

Sarah Miller is the new part-time school counselor for La Entrada High School and Parkview School. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University, Fullerton, then immediately went on to earn both her master’s degree in education and her school counseling credential in pupil personnel services from Azusa Pacific University.

Previously, Sarah worked as a high school counselor at Corona del Mar High School in Newport Beach. She provided academic, personal/social and career/college counseling. Every student is unique, and Sarah enjoys helping them explore their strengths, values and future goals. Sarah left Corona del Mar in 2010 to stay home with her son and work as a private college counselor. She earned her college counseling certificate from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2011. As founder of Orange County College Counseling, she provides one-on-one counseling, small group workshops and parent nights. As an active member of the National Association for College Admissions Counseling, the Higher Education Consultants Association and the American School Counselor Association, she is continuously attending conferences and webinars to stay up-to-date with the latest counseling trends.

Sarah is looking forward to working with students and families at both schools to provide one-on-one counseling and small group workshops. She will be at Parkview on Mondays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. To schedule appointments, email Sarah at smiller@pylusd.org.
