El Dorado’s Garrett Pipkin becomes an Eagle Scout

Garrett Pipkin, a junior at El Dorado High School and a member of Placentia Boy Scout Troop 723, recently earned his Eagle Scout Rank. He is the 99th Eagle Scout from this Troop.

Garrett planned, designed and implemented a conservation project at the Placentia United Methodist Church. He converted an overgrown atrium into a water conservation garden. After removing the overgrown plants, weeds and sprinklers, Garrett proceeded to transform the area with drought-resistant plants, brick walkway, gravel, cinderblock benches and a rain catchment system to ensure the new garden would be self-sustaining. This project was completed this past June.

Garrett has been in Boy Scouts since the age of six. Now, at the age of 15, he passed his Board of Review, and officially became an Eagle Scout on July 16, 2015.

Congrats Garrett!
