The Orange County Register recently profiled Esperanza High School senior Kezie Okpala. The reigning Crestview League Player of the Year, Kezie averaged a school-record 23 points per game last year, while also leading the team in rebounds, assists and steals. Earlier this year, he committed to play basketball for Stanford University. Kezie’s drive will bode well for Esperanza, ranked No. 3 in OC Varsity’s preseason Top 10. The Aztecs went 20-4 last season, capturing the Crestview League championship.
