Glenknoll and Esperanza dance into the holidays

On Wednesday, Dec. 14, the Esperanza High School dance company entertained nearly 300 Preppy K through third graders at Glenknoll Elementary School by dancing to a variety of holiday music. Under the direction of Sue Gehringer, Esperanza’s dance director, the energetic dancers performed five different genres, including a 1920’s Charleston, a Nutcracker ballet and a hip-hop version of the old classic “Jingle Bells.” The highlight of the performance was when the high schoolers danced with the elementary students! The Glenknoll children loved the show, as did the performers, several of whom went to Glenknoll when they were younger.

Mrs. Gehringer’s dance program is active in the community, and its holiday program is offered every year to Esperanza’s elementary feeder schools.
