Thanks to an outstanding librarian, reading is the focus at Sierra Vista

Sierra Vista Elementary School benefits from a strong library program. The library is a focal point on campus, and it’s a warm and inviting place to spend time. Sierra Vista librarian Mrs. Schall takes her responsibilities seriously, has a passion for reading and instills her love of reading in her students. Not only does she manage the library, process books and get them into the hands of students, she spends her lunch break hosting book clubs. Students bring their lunches and discuss grade-level literature. This month, her fourth graders read and discussed James and the Giant Peach. After school on one early release day, she spent her personal time to show the movie to the book club, and then discuss the similarities and differences between the book and movie. Sierra Vista is fortunate to have a child-centered, passionate reader as its librarian. Thank you Mrs. Schall!
