Chelsea Marasigan, a Valencia High School senior, recently performed at the California All-State Music Education Conference as a member of the 81-piece All-State High School String Orchestra. Chelsea was selected to be the second chair violist through a very competitive audition process. The All-State High School String Orchestra performed professional-level music by Felix Medelssohn, Dag Wiren and Ottorino Respighi at the San Jose Convention Center on Sunday, Feb. 19. The orchestra was conducted by Kristen Marshall, a professor at Ithaca College in New York. Chelsea is a member of the Valencia High School Sinfonia Orchestra under the direction of Mr. Bruce Topping.
