PYLUSD high schools compete at Reno Jazz Festival

Yorba Linda High School jazz band at the Reno Jazz Festival.

This past weekend, all four Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) comprehensive high schools competed among 350 groups in the Reno Jazz Festival. After a full weekend of competition, Yorba Linda High School’s Jazz I band (pictured) placed an impressive 3rd in the AA High School Band category and their Jazz II band earned 4th place in the APII High School Band category. Both bands were led by Director Bincins Garcia.

The PYLUSD Student Board Representative, Adam Carrillo, along with his band mates Matt Arsenault, Emily Takashima, Kyle Luke, and Isabelle Montellano were also given Special Performer Awards.

El Dorado High School received 4th place in the API High School Band category and Esperanza High School earned 6th place in the AA High School Combo category.
