On Tuesday, June 13, El Camino Real High School (ECRHS) held its 2017 commencement ceremony in Bradford Stadium at Valencia High School. Following the 2016-17 school year, the school awarded 128 students with their high school diploma.
The ceremony included honored guests such as both Board of Education President and Clerk, Karin Freeman and Carrie Buck, as well as Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Greg Plutko, Deputy Superintendent of Educational Services, Candy Plahy, Assistant Superintendent of Business Services, David Giordano, and Principal Gordon Chamberlin.
Students Vanessa Colmenares and Kyle Stout both delivered speeches filled with gratitude towards the continuation school and its dedicated faculty members. The student speakers also offered words of inspiration and perseverance to their fellow graduates.
Of the 128 ECRHS graduates, 25 fall under Foster Youth Education Code and graduated opposed to high dropout statistics.
