PYLUSD high schools promote college mindset with new flags

El Dorado High School's campus is covered in college flags.

The 2017-18 school year introduced an exciting change to the El Dorado High School (EDHS) and Valencia High School (VHS) campuses. In an effort to extend the college-going culture to students, both schools purchased flags of universities and local community colleges to display.

For some time, each school has designated a day of the week as “college shirt day,” where students and staff are encouraged to wear college gear to school. On these days, teachers often share about their own college experience with students. Now, coupled with college shirt day, the campuses will also have a college flag to fly outside of classrooms. It’s an inspiring sight to see!
