It is said that food nourishes the body, and learning nourishes the mind. Bodies and minds were certainly nourished at Fairmont Elementary School’s Back to School Night last week.
Parents flooded the blacktop for dinner from a local restaurant before streaming into classrooms to meet their students’ new teachers, who warmly welcomed their new groups of families.
The excitement that both teachers and parents felt that night was evident by hundreds of smiling, laughing faces. Hearts, minds, and bodies were nourished as families and teachers embarked on the school year’s magical journey of learning.
