Glenknoll Elementary participates in the Great Chalk Project

Mrs. Hess’ first and Mrs. Deano’s and Ms. Finney’s third graders eagerly participated in and beautified Glenknoll Elementary School’s walkways as a part of the Great Chalk Project! California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), teacher candidates, under the direction of Dr. Andrea M. Guillaume, planned, orchestrated, and taught this exciting project as part of their math methods course. Utilizing standards-based geometry, the teacher candidates had students create a collaborative, abstract work using brightly colored chalk and geometric shapes. This art/math integration was very successful and tremendous amounts of learning, and fun, was had by all!

The Glenknoll Cougars are honored to be able to host Dr. Guillaume and the CSUF teacher candidates’ block on its campus.
