Second grade teacher, Rosemary Pang, and fifth grade teacher, Makiko Shibata-Ellis, planned school-wide activities and created Dr. Seuss-themed morning announcements each day to celebrate the life and creativity of the beloved children\u2019s author.<\/p>\n<p>Students were encouraged to \u201cMake Someone\u2019s Monday\u201d by completing random acts of kindness. Other daily activities included \u201cT-Shirt Tuesday,\u201d \u201cWacky Wednesday,\u201d \u201cHats off to Dr. Seuss!,\u201d and \u201cFox in Socks Friday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The highlight of the week for first through sixth graders was Buddy Reading on the field.\u00a0 Students in grades\u00a0one through three\u00a0brought some books to read, while students in grades\u00a0four through six\u00a0brought blankets or beach towels. Primary and upper grade students then partnered up to read together on the grass.
