On Saturday, April 7,\u00a0the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) State Leadership Conference brought together 4,000 HOSA students from around the state.\u00a0Travis Ranch School\u00a0had four students go up on stage as state finalists and receive medals at the Grand Awards Ceremony.<\/p>\n

This recognition represents countless hours of studying, researching, and rehearsing healthcare topics. The school’s\u00a0 attendees were Camille Khong, Anita Tun, Samantha Lee, Tyler Cordova, Julia Herndandez, Kambria Bowen, and Ruby Bittner.\u00a0 Alex Panahi and Esha Jhawar also took tests remotely in March to participate.\u00a0 Students were\u00a0accompanied to the conference\u00a0by Travis Ranch teachers and club advisors, Mary Chapluk and Gina Beelner.<\/p>\n

Camille Khong & Anita Tun – bronze medals for Health Career Display
\nSamantha Lee – silver medal for Nutrition Knowledge Test
\nEsha Jhawar – bronze medal for Nutrition Knowledge Test<\/p>\n

“I’m so proud of how much work ALL of them put forth to prepare for their competitions and giving up a day of their spring break for over 14 hours,” shared Mary Chapluk.<\/p>\n

HOSA is an international student organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.\u00a0 HOSA’s two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.<\/p>\n
