On Friday, April 13 and Saturday, April 14, El Dorado High School (EDHS) Choral Music presented their annual spring production, “PRISM.” This year’s theme for the night was “America Sings!”, celebrating music made in America or written by American artists throughout the decades. This year’s production was the largest attended PRISM the Choral Music program has ever hosted in the PYLUSD Performing Arts Center.<\/p>\n

This production featured all 150+ members of the EDHS Choral Music Department. It was a wonderful evening of eclectic Americana music, live band, costumes, choreography, professional lighting, and inspirational performances by the student vocalists conducted by Director of Choral Music, Mr. Ryan Yoder.<\/p>\n

Audience members were particularly moved by special song tributes; “Salute to the Armed Forces”, which recognized active duty and retired military in the audience and “Lean On Me (We Shall Overcome)”, which was dedicated to the victims and families of the tragedy at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.<\/p>\n

The Choral Music program was very thankful and honored to have two PYLUSD school board members, Carrie Buck and Karin Freeman, in attendance to support the arts.<\/p>\n

“In a time where our country has been faced which much divisiveness, I felt it was important for myself and the students to commemorate the beautiful music produced by American artists throughout the decades,” Yoder shared. “Music has always crossed lines of culture, conflict, and tragedy to bring people together.”<\/p>\n
