Teacher Drew Putman started the club in 2010 after hearing that so many students wanted to learn how to play the guitar.<\/p>\n<p>Students could not afford to purchase their own guitar, so Mr. Putman applied for and received the City of Placentia&#8217;s &#8220;Cultural Arts Project for Every Student&#8221; grant, otherwise known as C.A.P.E.S.\u00a0 With the C.A.P.E.S. grant and\u00a0additional support from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.donorschoose.org\/\">Donors Choose<\/a>, the Valadez Eagles now have an inventory of more than 20 guitars.<\/p>\n<p>In the club, students are taught basic chords\u00a0while learning how to play current songs.
