On May 4, Valencia High School (VHS) held their annual AVID Senior Signing Day for the class of 2018 in the Auditorium.\u00a0 The seniors received \u201cAccepted to College\u201d t-shirts and\u00a0certificates of recognition for their post-secondary destination.\u00a0 The students’ accomplishments at Valencia and advice to future AVID scholars were read aloud by teachers Brandon Frank and\u00a0Corinna Harnett.<\/p>\n

With 9th\u00a0through 11th grade AVID students in attendance, the seniors were also each recognized for their overall GPA, their extra-curricular and community service accomplishments, and all of the schools where they were accepted. The VHS AVID class of 2018 finishes their K-12 education experience strong, with 100% of this year’s graduating class pursuing post-secondary education, despite the fact that 90% of them will be the first in their family to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/colgroup>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
