Back in June,\u00a0El Dorado High School (EDHS) student Colby Bladow found out she was selected to serve on the State Superintendent of Public Instruction\u2019s Child Nutrition Advisory Council (CNAC) as their student member. Prior to the start of the 2018-19 school year, Colby traveled to Sacramento to be officially sworn into the CNAC by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction,\u00a0Tom Torlakson. Colby has committed to a one-year term starting in September 2018.<\/p>\n

The CNAC is composed of 13 individuals representing different segments of the child nutrition community. The CNAC\u2019s mission is to advise the\u00a0State Superintendent\u00a0in areas of health, wellness, and nutrition for all students in California\u2019s kindergarten through twelfth grade public schools. The CNAC meets for a one-day meeting in Sacramento in September, November, March, and May. Travel and other applicable expenses are reimbursed.<\/p>\n
