Each year, El Dorado High School (EDHS) and Valencia High School (VHS) battle for football superiority in the much-anticipated “Bell Game.” The game serves as a longstanding tradition in not only the schools’ history, but also the City of Placentia’s.<\/p>\n

This year,\u00a0the crosstown rivalry\u00a0game took place on Friday, September 7, at Bradford Stadium. The final score was 31-3 with the Valencia Tigers claiming victory.<\/p>\n

Although one school takes home the bell each year, the schools hope to remind everyone that the entire Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) is a community that cares about each other.<\/p>\n

“We celebrate all the student-athletes who fight for their school, but we want everyone to know that Placentia and PYLUSD is at the heart of what we’re about,” said El Dorado activities director, Eron Campuzano. “El Dorado may have lost on the scoreboard, but our sidelines\u00a0were having the time of their lives!”<\/p>\n

El Dorado had their Class of 1988 at the game on Friday night who celebrated their 30th high school reunion the next night.

\n“Every game we cheer on El Dorado and bleed black\u00a0and gold all the way,” Campuzano\u00a0shared.<\/p>\n
