In honor of Patriot Day and the anniversary of 9\/11, students from Esperanza High School’s (EHS)\u00a0Air Force\u00a0Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program presented the colors at\u00a0the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD)\u00a0 Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.<\/p>\n

The Aztec Color Guard’s presentation\u00a0served as an important moment for those in attendance to remember and honor all\u00a0of the civilians and first responders\u00a0\u00a0who lost their lives on that day 17 years.<\/p>\n

Prior to that, Esperanza’s AFJROTC program was also asked to present the colors\u00a0at the 12th Annual Tee it Up for the Troops Golf Tournament at Alta Vista Country Club in Placentia on Monday, September 10.\u00a0 Each year, this event pays tribute and raises funds to support all present and past members of America\u2019s armed forces and their families, especially those who were wounded or gave their lives to protect the liberties and freedoms cherished by all Americans.<\/p>\n

Even with the start of\u00a0the new school year, EHS AFJROTC continues to have a presence at many community events, showing Aztec PRIDE and representing the values of Esperanza every where they go!<\/p>\n
