Valencia High School’s\u00a0(VHS) new\u00a0Teacher Pathway had its first day in the classroom with Ruby Drive Elementary School students on Tuesday, September 25.<\/p>\n

Students\u00a0enrolled in the North Orange County Regional Occupational Program<\/a><\/span> (NOCROP) Teacher Pathway were placed into classrooms to begin their training for a career in education. For the first time, the Tigers were involved in assisting classroom teachers, administering benchmark assessments, and supporting\u00a0student learning.<\/p>\n

In addition to Ruby Drive, Valencia students will also have the opportunity to train in classrooms\u00a0next door at Kraemer Middle School<\/a>\u00a0throughout the school year.<\/p>\n

“It was great to see so many future teachers eager to assist in the classroom,” shared VHS assistant principal, Jeff Louie.<\/p>\n

This is the inaugural year for the Teacher Pathway on Valencia’s campus. VHS students now have the opportunity to take the courses “Principle’s of Teaching and Learning,” as well as “Teaching Students with Special Needs” as components of the Education Pathway offered through NOCROP.<\/p>\n

According to NOCROP, this program provides students with the academic and technical preparation to pursue high-skill, high-demand careers in these related and growing industries.<\/p>\n
