The curious young students had many questions for the\u00a0station&#8217;s firefighters, as they had recently read Benchmark Unit 1: \u201cGovernment at Work.\u201d The unit&#8217;s reading focused on a particularly\u00a0fascinating\u00a0topic for the\u00a0second graders:\u00a0special firefighters called smoke jumpers.<\/p>\n<p>The Ruby Drive scholars had also just finished the corresponding performance task in which they wrote about all of the important responsibilities a fire fighter has.
