Shawn Knutson: a beloved parent, colleague, and principal.<\/p>\n
When she passed away in 2012, Mrs. Knutson left a legacy of love and excellence that the Fairmont Elementary School community strives to uphold and honor. Knutson\u00a0passed away following a three-year battle with cancer. She\u00a0served the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District diligently for many years, rotating as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and principal at multiple elementary schools. She was a remarkable woman who inspired countless students and teachers.<\/p>\n
For the week of March 18 to 22, the Fairmont Falcons will be raising funds to provide college scholarships to high school seniors who called Fairmont their home during their elementary years. With the money raised from Fairmont students and their families,\u00a0the school is able to provide multiple scholarships to deserving students that embody Mrs. Knutson\u2019s dedication to learning and perseverance.<\/p>\n
Each year, the school has been able to grant more scholarships than the previous one. The Falcons are hoping to have their best year yet!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
