Congratulations to the members of the Valencia High School (VHS) team who participated in the California State Academic Decathlon competition in Sacramento March 23-24. According to coach Sam Myovich, the team represented Valencia with character, pride, and spirit.<\/p>\n

\n– Silver medal in Economics<\/p>\n

Sidra Ali<\/strong>
\n– Bronze medals in Economics and Interview<\/p>\n

Sean Patel<\/strong>
\n– Bronze medals in Mathematics, Speech, and Music
\n– Gold medal in Social Science<\/p>\n

Curtis Liu<\/strong>
\n– Bronze medal in Mathematics
\n– Silver medal in Art and Science
\n– Gold medal in Music<\/p>\n

Coaches include\u00a0Tara Filowitz, Mindy Foote, Calen Rau, Fred Jenkins, Kay Kerby, and Sam Myovich.<\/p>\n

“A very special word of thanks goes to Kay Kerby, who served the team for the final time this year. Kay\u2019s special love for the students, the competition, and the literature permeated this team,” Myovich shared.<\/p>\n
