On Tuesday, Aug. 11, and Wednesday, Aug. 12, PYLUSD will host nearly 200 teachers in an effort to incorporate and utilize more cutting-edge technology in the classroom.<\/p>\n

This Google Apps for Education (GAFE) summit will be facilitated by EdTechTeam. PYLUSD is a Google district; therefore, many of the tools shared at the event will be Google apps.<\/p>\n

At the heart of the seminar will be a new “Bring Your Own Device” initiative that PYLUSD is implementing across all 34 schools and at all grade levels — kindergarten through the 12th grade. This plan will enable students to use their personal smart device for educational purposes.<\/p>\n

The two-day session will be held at El Dorado High School in Placentia, and will run from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. both days. Each day will start with a large group presentation, and end with a fun wrap-up session. In between, hundreds of educators will have a choice of five different sessions to attend every hour.<\/p>\n

This training supports the district’s goals of maximizing student collaboration, improving communication, inspiring creativity, cultivating critical thinking and expanding learning beyond the classroom setting.<\/p>\n
