The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics. Click <a href=\"https:\/\/hourofcode.com\/us\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> to learn more. \u202a#\u200eHourOfCode\u202c<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mabel Paine Elementary School<\/strong><br \/>\nMr. Zietlow&#8217;s fourth grade class at Mabel Paine tried their hand at coding. The electronic classroom map tracks how many students are participating in the Hour of Code all across the world!<\/p>\n<p><a School<\/strong><br \/>\nDuring their assigned computer instruction time, Rose Drive students learned how to use computer code to direct animated characters through different levels of a computer School<\/strong><br \/>\nSecond through sixth graders created a sequence of steps for a game, including Frozen, Star Wars, Minecraft and Angry Birds. Ruby Drive students found the exercise interesting and fun. A big thank you to Ingrid Requeno for coordinating the activities, printing certificates and taking pictures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Valencia High School<\/strong><br \/>\nCareer Technical Education (CTE) classes, English language arts (ELA) and world language classes, as well as English Learner (EL) classes, worked on coding activities in the spirit of learning new skills and exploring technology. Mr. Parker&#8217;s AP Computer Science students provided expert help to students who came into the tech labs after school.
