The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Linda Adamson as the new Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services. Dr. Adamson\u2019s appointment comes following a formal approval by the Board of Education at a regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, July 7.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In this role, Dr. Adamson will perform a wide variety of key functions relative to student achievement, curriculum and instruction, professional development, assessment, leadership development, and much more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cOn behalf of the Board of Education, we welcome Dr. Adamson, an accomplished leader, into her new position,\u201d shared Superintendent Dr. Greg Plutko. \u201cHer extensive knowledge of our school district and community combined with her exceptional educational leadership skills are just a few of the many capabilities that make her the right choice for this distinguished position.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Dr. Adamson first began her career with PYLUSD in 2012 as the principal at Rose Drive Elementary School. She currently serves as the K-12 Director of Assessment, Accountability, and Title I in the Educational Services Department.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI am truly honored to accept this position,\u201d Dr. Adamson shared. \u201cPYLUSD has been my home for the last 8 years and so it is with absolute joy that I embrace the opportunity to continue to serve a community I have come to consider as my family.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Throughout her 25 years in education, Dr. Adamson has held a wide variety of impactful roles including director, administrator, principal, and teacher in both California and South Africa.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

She received her doctorate and masters in educational leadership from California State University, Fullerton, and her bachelors in education from JHB College of Education in South Africa.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Outside of PYLUSD, Dr. Adamson serves as an adjunct professor at Hope International University in Fullerton, teaching fellow educators as a part of the school\u2019s educational administrative masters and credentialing program.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cGiven the uncertainty that we face in the coming months, I believe it has never been more important for us to all come together as we strive for continued excellence at PYLUSD, while ensuring the safety, happiness, and well-being of every one of our students,\u201d Dr. Adamson added. \u201cI look forward to uniting with staff and families as we strive to seek the joy in each day and cultivate a future of hope for our students…our children deserve no less.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This appointment comes after Dr. Candy Plahy, the district\u2019s longstanding Deputy Superintendent of Educational Services, announced in June that she would retire on August 1 after serving PYLUSD for 32 years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
