Annually, Engineers Week celebrates talented engineers across the nation who support MATHCOUNTS programs as coordinators and volunteers, inspire future problem solvers, and make a difference in the world.

During the virtual event, the organizations posted five engineer-themed “Problems of the Day” online at www.mathcounts.org/eweek for students to attempt. The problem sets centered on the following types of engineering: environmental, systems, software, aerospace, and chemical. A “future engineer” is a student who attempted the problems. A “future engineer with honors” is a student who answers all parts of a problem set correctly.

Maiah Sharma, a 7th grade student at Yorba Linda Middle School, applied her knowledge and skills to attempt all five problem sets.
