On Sunday, March 7,\u00a0Kraemer Middle School ASB students, teachers, and administrators brightened the day of local medical workers at Placentia-Linda Hospital in Placentia. The school presented two\u00a0new Keuring machines with\u00a0coffee pods and other snacks\u00a0to show\u00a0their appreciation of the organization’s continued service to\u00a0the local community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Students\u00a0also shared their artistic abilities\u00a0by creating an\u00a0inspirational chalk art message on the front sidewalk of the hospital and posters for the nurses’ stations.<\/p>\n

Since the beginning, doctors,\u00a0nurses, first responders, and other support staff have served as integral players in the\u00a0local response to COVID-19. Back in January, Kraemer Middle School also surprised Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) nurses and support staff in a similar fashion. In PYLUSD,\u00a0school nurses have\u00a0been led by Lead Nurse, Michelle DeHaven,\u00a0who monitors and manages all COVID-19 cases from their headquarters on Kraemer\u2019s campus.<\/p>\n

The efforts to recognize local medical personnel have been spearheaded by Kraemer teachers Shane Twamley and Ricky Castro, who took it upon themselves to involve ASB students and collect donations from staff and community members to purchase the donations. Way to go, Cubs!<\/p>\n
