Many Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District students have recently competed in various scholarship programs.

From Valencia High School, Arushi Somani recently won a scholarship and the crown for Los Angeles’ Outstanding Teen. She is a junior at Valencia and her social impact addresses Environmental Education. For her talent, she performed a Classical Bollywood Dance Fusion.

The new Miss Placentia\u2019s Outstanding Teen 2022 is Hailey Whitehurst! She currently attends Yorba Linda High School and sang and performed ukulele for her talent.

In addition, Ashley Nelson was recently crowned Miss Placentia on February 11 at Valencia High School. Ashley is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and Esperanza High School who is looking to pursue a degree in Environmental Law. Ashley was also a participant at the Super Bowl due to her background as dance captain at Berkley.

Kiannah Dole is the new Miss Yorba Linda and a graduate of Yorba Linda High School. She completed her college program at the University of San Diego with a B.A. in Behavioral Neuroscience and is looking to be a pediatric nurse practitioner.

Lastly, pictured below with Miss California is Miss Yorba Linda’s Outstanding Teen is Madeline Smith. Maddie attended Kraemer Middle School and is now a sophomore at El Dorado High School. She will be singing for the talent portion of Miss California’s Outstanding Teen sometime in late June. She, along with Ashley and Arushi attended Kraemer Middle School which is the home of Miss California 2001, Stephanie Baldwin.
