El Dorado High School’s Dance Team, a group of 26 dancers, competed at the West Coast Elite Dance Team National competition at the Long Beach Arena April 21-23, 2022. The team won two national titles, bringing home team jackets and two new banners.
The team faced off against 50 high schools with six of their seven dances placing!\u00a0According to Dance Team Director Shan Lawson, this is the most the Golden Hawks have ever placed at this competition.
The team’s rankings included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1st – Large Lyrical
1st – Lage Jazz
2nd – Small Jazz\u00a0
2nd – Medium Contemporary
2nd –\u00a0Large Pom
3rd – Large Hip Hop<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the solo competition, three dancers placed out of a field of 150 dancers! Congratulations to Alana Valez, Veronica Hutchison, and Hailey Chung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
