On Thursday, June 16, Esperanza High School (EHS) held its 2022 commencement ceremony where 325 seniors were presented their high school diploma in Nathan Shapell Memorial Stadium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of those seniors, 91% have enrolled to further their education at a two or four-year college or university following high school. The EHS Class of 2022\u00a0earned over $2.4 million in scholarships and six seniors serving their country in the military after graduation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony included honored guests such as Board of Education Clerk Leandra Blades and Trustee Shawn Youngblood as well as the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) Superintendent Dr. Jim Elsasser, Assistant Superintendents, David Giordano and Rick Lopez, Director Gina Aguilar, and Principal Jeff Giles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students Aklile Tewdorose Desta and Quynh Vo reflected on their time at Esperanza High School and the many opportunities the school had offered. Principal Giles also offered words of wisdom to the graduates, reminding the audience of the individuality each student possesses in their ability to be successful after high school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the acceptance of the class, the new graduates turned their tassels from right to left while streamer cannons blasted off to conclude the ceremony and the students\u2019 time at Esperanza. Congratulations, EHS graduates!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
