{"id":223,"date":"2015-09-08T12:00:35","date_gmt":"2015-09-08T19:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/goodnews.pylusd.org\/?p=223"},"modified":"2016-03-01T09:08:33","modified_gmt":"2016-03-01T17:08:33","slug":"valencia-live-streams-womens-softball-world-cup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/goodnews.pylusd.org\/?p=223","title":{"rendered":"Valencia live-streams women&#8217;s softball World Cup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the second year in a row, Valencia High School was invited to produce the live stream for the women&#8217;s &#8220;World Cup of Softball X.&#8221; Eight countries sent their national teams to Irvine, Calif., from June 28 to July 5, to compete.<\/p>\n<p>Current and former Valencia students involved in the Val Tech program and video production classes live-streamed all 32 games of the World Cup 2015. Sue Sawyer and VHS alumni Bryan Escalante, Grant Bagne, Crystal Sayphraraj, Gloria Garcia, and Josh Garcia led a crew of current Tigers in producing the event. They received over 100,000 hits on the site, and used the latest in technology, including 4K cameras, a TriCaster and an old-fashioned work ethic.<\/p>\n<p>It was a wonderful opportunity for students to use the skills developed in the classroom in a real-world situation.
