{"id":22439,"date":"2022-10-06T08:41:00","date_gmt":"2022-10-06T15:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/goodnews.pylusd.org\/?p=22439"},"modified":"2022-10-07T08:57:41","modified_gmt":"2022-10-07T15:57:41","slug":"esperanza-students-practice-life-saving-skills-with-the-help-of-local-college-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/goodnews.pylusd.org\/?p=22439","title":{"rendered":"Esperanza students practice life-saving skills with the help of local college students"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Esperanza 9th grade students in Mr. Rex\u2019s college &amp; career ready, medical careers, and health classes recently received instruction from senior students in Ketchum University&#8217;s Physician Assistant Studies Program (Brinley Crumley, Andrew Iliuta, Kellie Kodama, Hannah Nandor, Kit Seymour). The seniors are currently completing their capstone classes to finish their degrees.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students received hands-on instruction as part of their emergency\/first aid unit. Many of these 9th-grade students will continue training as they move forward in the Esperanza High School Medical Sciences Academy.\u00a0<br><br>The stations included trauma (tourniquet), Epi-pens, recovery position, and splints for a broken bone.
