On February 22, 2023, Golden Elementary School hosted its first-ever Battle of the Books competition! Approximately 100 students from 4th through 6th grade competed in teams to answer questions about 20 books they had read.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition was held after school, which was abuzz with excitement from both students and parents. Golden teachers ran the battles in various classrooms until two teams were left in the championship round. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winning team participants were Lindsay Bai, Madeline Chang, Jenny Fang, Giang Le, and Eri Kaneda.  The second-place team participants were Michael Braun, Rohit Samtani, Aaron Lee, and Joshua Oh.  Both teams were tied at the end of the regular round which then forced them into the challenge round.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It was very exciting and both teams were gracious to each other,” Principal Kristin McDonald shared.  “Golden is excited to bring this event to its students for years to come.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
