The school’s 5th-grade teachers prepare and plan for hands-on workshops, giving students a true taste of life in early America.

With the help of many parents, grandparents, and community volunteers, students rotate through interactive stations that include early American crafts, trades, games, food, and daily chores. Teachers, students, and volunteers come dressed in proper colonial attire to further set the stage for the day.

From candle making to tinning, doll making, and colonial games, students are brought back to the Colonial period, gaining an awareness of our nation’s past and an appreciation for life in another era. Students work up a real appetite through their hard work and are treated to a realistic colonial “dinner” including stew, corn, biscuit, cookie, and milk and apple juice.

According to teacher Becky Smith, this engaging and interactive experience is one that students remember forever!

Each year, Bryant Ranch School 5th graders travel back in time to the colonial era and participate in a day-long living history event known as…

[1168
371
post-23504","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-elementary-school","tag-bryant-ranch-school
["GET
