This is why the KMS AVID Program has sponsored this opportunity for the last three years because AVID\u2019s mission is to close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college and career readiness and success in a global society.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The PSAT 8\/9 is a newer offering that helps younger scholars plan a path to college by giving a preview of what high-stakes tests will be like in future years. And, unlike its sister exams, the SAT and PSAT\/NMSQT, the PSAT 8\/9 will not directly affect students&#8217; college applications or scholarship opportunities. An added benefit of this particular testing session is that results and detailed feedback on strength and improvement areas were available within minutes instead of weeks allowing students to almost immediately reflect on their performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to seventh grader, Kaiden Surti, \u201cI really liked it. It helped me learn, and I am going to take it again next year.
