On October 28, the REACH Foundation collaborated with Inside the Outdoors (ITO), an award-winning organization administered by the Orange County Department of Education, to host the 4th Annual Experience Your Environment event at Carbon Canyon Regional Park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this event, Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) students had the opportunity to inquire about topics related to climate resiliency and environmental literacy. They engaged in hands-on activities to learn how reducing organic waste can build climate resiliency, how the conscious use and protection of water resources helps safeguard us during a drought, and how native plants need less water and support our native wildlife. Students also met ITO\u2019s animal ambassadors and explored the largest coastal redwood grove in Orange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This collaboration underscored the significance and impact of REACH’s mission to nurture a natural curiosity for the environment, learn about human impact, and take small steps in local neighborhoods to protect the environment for future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Much\u00a0like in years past, the event was a great success. It would not have been possible without the generosity of the\u00a0REACH Foundation, an all-volunteer, education-focused, 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. Since 2012, the REACH Foundation has been dedicated to providing programs and events that expose PYLUSD students to 21st-century learning skills in academics, foster creativity through the arts, and promote healthy lifestyles through athletics. These three pillars serve as the foundation for students to REACH their highest potential. Thank you,\u00a0REACH!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
